 बेरोजगारी का अर्थ है आजीविका के लिए साधन का ना होना भारत में बेरोजगार अनेक प्रकार की है यहां जितनी जनसंख्या है उतनी मात्रा में नौकरियां नहीं है नौकरियां भी योग्यता के अनुसार नहीं है कुछ लोगों की आजीविका वर्ष भर के लिए ना होकर कुछ महीनो के लिए होती है सब प्रकार की बेरोजगारी युवकों को निराशा और हताश करती है वह ना चाहते हुए भी थक हार कर अपराध जगत की और भटक जाते हैं उन्हें पेट भरने के लिए गलत रास्ते  चुन्नी करते हैं या आतंकवाद सबके पीछे बेरोजगारी की भूमिका अवश्य होती है यह समस्या सब समस्याओं की जननी है इसे रोकने को सबसे अधिक महत्व दिया जाना जाना चाहिए उन्नत देशों में लोगों को रोजगार भत्ता मिलता है जिससे उनका निर्वाह हो जाता है भारत में ऐसे बायो की अतिरिक्त बेरोजगार के अवसर बढ़ाने और अधिक ध्यान देना चाहिए
